PSAL Savings

Overview

Police Savings Association Limited (PSAL) is a savings Association for Uganda Police Officers only, established on the 28th April, 1989. With a sole aim of improving the welfare of its members. By then membership was automatic and the Board of Directors was by virtue of one’s office in Uganda Police Force (UPF).

The first democratic election was on 21st August 1998 with its first elected Chairman as SSP Bakesiima (RIP). The turning point for the Association was in the year 2000 when Ms. Elizabeth Kuteesa was elected Board Chairperson. She made pragmatic and remarkable positive reforms some of which were based on the Ssebutinde Commission recommendations.

From March 2003, Membership became voluntary free entry and free exit. Those members who wished to continue saving with the Association had to renew their membership. The membership of the Association reduced to 750 from 14620 members. We now have 3150 members consisting of both Active and Retired Police officers.

Both our Finance and Management teams are highly skilled to give Financial Advisory Services on loans that last up to three (3) years with affordable interest rate of 13% for salary loans and 16% for business loans.

We work together with our clients to help them improve their quality of life and ensure a more stable future for themselves and their families.
